Salone del Mobile 2009

Posted on April 7, 2009

Oh to be at the Salone this year! As a former resident of Milan, I’d unequivocally state that the city is at its best when the international furniture fair comes to town.

Last year’s show was great, despite the dodgy weather. The extension of FuoriSalone to Bovisa (in addition to the Zona Tortona) bought a fresh sense of vibrancy to the week and I wish I could return this year to see how it continues to develop.

This just popped into my mailbox and has me feeling very tempted to book a flight (the main problem is finding accommodation in Milan):

Eco Kitchen base

“Valcucine presents the first 100% recyclable kitchen with “gReenaissance“, an exposition project inspired to the material’s natural life-cycle, an extensive and coherent research aimed to create eco-friendly kitchens.

Superstudio Più

Via Tortona 27, Milano

A week at the Salone is like a full immersion in the delights of design. But it’s not too worthy. Make it along to some of the opening nights and you’ll experience the most creative and awe-inspiring parties.
